For over 60 years, the 24 Hours of Daytona has been among the Big Three in endurance racing alongside the 24 Hours du Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
In 2013, the GX class was introduced due to the merger of the American Le Mans Series and the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series.
